Psychotherapy can be an effective tool in providing you with the necessary support and training to overcome the challenges you face. By seeking therapy, you are making a courageous step to say this is not working for me and ask for help to get support to make a life that works for you. Many studies have shown that a major contributor to feeling stuck is not having enough or the right kind of support.  No one who is thriving is doing it alone and you do not have to either.

As an experienced psychologist, I am aware that there are no exact answers or one way to live your life.  I will work to understand your unique culture, context and values and consider what is blocking your path to realizing the life you envision for yourself and need.  We are also not disparate parts and I work in my practice to consider your care from an integrative perspective addressing mind, body and spirit.  I am trained in a variety of tools that we can work together to consider how to apply best for your unique circumstances.  Certifications include Cognitive  Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, Interpersonal Therapy for Depression and Women’s Mental Health concerns, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, Reproductive Mental Health Certification Training, R.O.S.E. Reach Out and Stay Strong Essentials to prevent Postpartum Depression.  I also utilize Heartmath Biofeedback to assist you to retrain your nervous system to effect change for a variety of conditions from a trauma informed lens to include chronic pain, migraine, sleep issues, blood pressure and anxiety.

With honesty and compassion I will work with you to create an open channel of communication. The goal of our therapy sessions together, will be to help you develop the mental fortitude needed to lead a successful life. Additionally, we will work on the skill of self-compassion, which will allow you to move more easily through difficult times in the future, as wells as become a more productive and happier person.
